In 2024 I was commissioned by The Huntington Library, Art Museum and Botanical Gardens (known as The Huntington) in San Marino, CA, to reproduce some historical Chinese gardening tools. The reproductions were based on illustrations from Addition to the “History of Flowers,” a book published in 1618. The following videos show my process of forging one of these tools, a pair of shears for trimming bamboo.
